Professor Possessor's sultry queer synthpop is both retro and entirely new. Made up of Jess Imme, Jacob Summers, Hayden Hall, and Scarlet Newman-Thomas, Professor Possessor has been together since the hot Summer of 2010 and has released one full-length, Strange Paradise, and two EPs. Inspired by the DIY ethos of riot grrrl and punk, the band also directs, shoots and edits their own videos in addition to writing and recording all of their own music. Their lo-fi aesthetic is inspired by 80s and 90s horror movies and popular kids' shows, with most costumes and props being created from scratch. Their videos have thousands of views on YouTube and they have performed at local music festivals such as Make Music Pasadena and Brokechella, and have played at nearly every venue on the east and west sides of Los Angeles.
